A digital comparison of grammar school curricula for the subject ‘Czech/Slovak Language and Literature’ in the years 1985, 1991 and 1997/9

The aim of this dissertation is to compare three different political systems the two countries experienced (The Communist party rule, the post-Communist period and the independent states of Czech Republic and Slovakia) and focus on the way curricula in higher education changed over the course of these three periods. By utilizing various computing methods such as data visualization, the paper will seek to emphasize the ever-growing necessity for digitalisation in the field of Humanities and at the same time present new possibilities for further research in the field of Comparative Literature. To illustrate the potential of computing, a web-based platform ‘Palladio’ will be used in order to present new ways of looking at the filed of Humanities.
